ECBO Support
Empowering Ethnic Community-Based Organizations
Ethnic Community-Based Organizations (ECBOs) play a vital role in the immigrant rights movement and refugee resettlement. They are community organizations that are founded and/or led by a current or former refugee or a group of current and former refugees and immigrants, primarily for the advancement of refugees. ECBO organizations are formed within a specific ethnic or cultural group to cater to their needs and address their concerns. These organizations provide culturally appropriate services, advocacy, case management, and support to immigrant, refugee, and ethnic minority populations. They are the intersectionality and backbone of the community, making them crucial to the overall well-being of immigrant and refugee integration.
ECBO Support:
At We Are All America, over the past four years, we have closely collaborated with over 40 Ethnic Community-Based Organizations across the USA through our ECBO-Mini Grant program. Through this initiative, each year, we have provided 6 ECBOs with small amounts of seed money for adaptation and scholarships. We deeply acknowledge the invaluable contributions of ECBOs and remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting them in overcoming challenges. Our ECBO Support initiative is aimed at providing ECBO leaders with the resources, tools, and guidance necessary to strengthen their organizations and fulfill their missions.
Program Objectives:
- Capacity Building: Equip ECBO leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate funding challenges and enhance organizational sustainability.
- Networking and Collaboration: Foster connections and collaboration among ECBOs, enabling them to share best practices, resources, and support.
- Visibility and Recognition: Increase the visibility and recognition of ECBOs within philanthropic circles and broader communities.
- Long-Term Sustainability: Empower ECBOs to develop sustainable funding models and organizational structures that enable them to thrive.
