State Organizers
Leading the Charge for Change
Welcome to the hub of WAAA’s State Organizers, where grassroots activism meets impactful advocacy. Our dedicated organizers across various states in the United States are at the forefront of driving change, fostering inclusivity, and advocating for pro-refugee and pro-immigrant policies at the state and local levels.
Empowering Communities, Transforming Policies:
At WAAA, we believe in the power of community-driven action to effect meaningful and long-term change. Our state organizers, all of whom are immigrants and refugees themselves, work tirelessly to empower communities, amplify voices, and advocate for policies that uphold the rights and dignity of refugees and immigrants. Through strategic collaborations, grassroots mobilization, and targeted advocacy efforts, our organizers are instrumental in reshaping the narrative surrounding refugees and immigrants and promoting inclusive initiatives that benefit all.
Here are some key benefits and opportunities for both organizers and immigrant and refugee employees who are passionate about advocating for refugees and immigrants as part of WAAA’s state organizers:

- Training and Capacity Building: WAAA offers training sessions, workshops, and resources to help organizers enhance their advocacy skills, deepen their understanding of refugee and immigrant issues, and strengthen their organizational capacity. Additionally, WAAA provides mentorship and coaching opportunities, allowing organizers and immigrant and refugee employees to receive personalized guidance and support as they navigate their advocacy journey and develop their leadership skills.
- Policy Advocacy: As part of WAAA’s state organizers, both organizers and immigrant and refugee employees can participate in policy advocacy campaigns at the state and local levels, influencing decision-makers and advocating for policies promoting refugees’ and immigrants’ rights and well-being.
