Ahead of World Refugee Day, Advocates Gather to Call for Restoring Welcome

Washington D.C. – TODAY, ahead of World Refugee Day (June 20), directly-impacted leaders, faith leaders, and advocates will gather from 7:00-8:00 PM ET to discuss the urgent need to restore welcome for all. Over the past ten years, the global refugee population has more than doubled—now exceeding 84 million—but the U.S.’ ability to welcome refugees, asylum seekers, and others seeking safety has deteriorated.

This virtual event will share updates about the current state of the U.S. refugee resettlement and asylum systems and opportunities to advocate for more welcoming policies. It will feature live music and moving stories from directly-impacted refugee leaders, as well as reflections and prayers.
