WAAA National Advocacy Days
Each year, with the help of our National Table Leaders, our State organizers, and our partners, WAAA trains, mobilizes and organizes around 300 grassroots refugee and immigrant leaders to advocate effectively. These leaders will convene for the National Refugee Advocacy Days during the August Recess while members of Congress are in their home states. Meetings will take place in person.
Thanks to the support of our partners, our 2024 National Refugee Advocacy Days took place from Monday, August 12th, to Friday, August 16th, 2024. Over 255+ immigrant and refugee leaders participated, accompanied by 40 delegation leads. These leaders engaged in 76 meetings with members of Congress, effectively conveying the concerns and needs of refugee and immigrant communities directly to policymakers.
